How Bolton MPs voted on Owen Paterson standards issue

The three Bolton MPs all voted in a different way in today’s vote on upholding standards.

The move came in relation to the conduct of North Shropshire MP and former environment secretary Owen Paterson, who was found to have breached rules on lobbying.

He was paid more than £100,000 a year by two different companies.

The vote today means he will avoid a 30 day suspension which could have triggered a by-election.

It was passed by 250 votes to 232 and will result in a new committee looking at the conduct of Mr Paterson.

Yasmin Qureshi, Bolton South MP, voted against the motion.

Chris Green, MP for Bolton West, voted in favour of it.

And Mark Logan, MP for Bolton North East, abstained.
