Shrewsbury Town boss Steve Cotterill on Bolton Wanderers clash
SHREWSBURY boss Steve Cotterill says his side arenât feeling any extra pressure despite Wanderersâ promising start to the season ahead of Saturdayâs League One clash.
Ian Evattâs men sit seventh in the league table following Tuesday nightâs emphatic 4-1 win at Charlton.
Meanwhile, Cotterillâs men find themselves in the drop zone after picking up eight points from their opening 10 fixtures.
The Shrewsbury boss has been impressed with the Whitesâ recent performances but insists his side havenât made any changes to their preparation.
"Bolton have had a good start and have a fair-sized squad,â he told the clubâs website. âFrom what I gather, their budget has been very good and has been lifted this year.
âTheir turnover will give them an advantage in this league I would imagine; they have assembled a good squad.
"There's no difference in our preparation just because they're in the top half of the table. We will prepare for them as we would any other team - I don't think there are any added pressures with that.
âThey've been in good form, certainly away from home and they're the top team in our league away from home. Whereas at home, it's been a little more difficult for them.
âAs I've said before, it doesn't matter where you pick up points. It is nice picking results up on the road and they've done that well."
Former Wanderers midfielder Josh Vela â" who joined the Whitesâ youth ranks at the age of nine and went on to make 182 first-team appearances â" is a doubt due to injury.
Vela was forced off with a knee problem in the Shrewsâ win against Wimbledon last weekend and missed the defeat against Wycombe on Tuesday night.
Cotterill added: "Josh Daniels is probably a no. Josh Vela, at best, could be on the bench. That would be down to him wanting to be involved against one of his old clubs in Bolton.
âWe can't let that change our decision based on the injury. We've got a few sniffles but nothing serious.â
