Bolton Wanderers players rated out of 10 for their performance against Charlton
JOEL DIXONâ¦6.5.
Hard to mark him down as there wasnât a save for him to make â" but due credit for his confidence on the ball, which is becoming really important in Wanderersâ build-up.
GETHIN JONESâ¦8.
Best game for a while. Tested in the first half as Blackett-Taylor and Leko switched wings but never looked overrun. Caused Charlton a lot of problems going the other way.
RICARDO SANTOSâ¦7.5.
Strong outing for the big man, who dominated Davison et al in the second-half and pushed confidently into midfield with the ball too.
ALEX BAPTISTEâ¦6.5.
The one error in possession stands out â" but we should also highlight the two marvellous cover tackles on Leko to halt a Charlton break in the second half.
DECLAN JOHNâ¦5.5.
Would have liked an easier night to phase himself back into the team but Leko was a handful. John worked hard and was clearly tiring towards the end.
MJ WILLIAMSâ¦7.5.
Compact in possession and usually first to any loose ball or poor touch, we also saw a bit more of Williams pushing forward and creating chances at The Valley.
KIERAN LEEâ¦8.5.
Has given Ian Evatt a proper headache with two well-taken goals and a really efficient performance. A proper class act.
ELIAS KACHUNGAâ¦7.
After a quiet half hour, Kachunga put himself right in the thick of the action either side of the break and showed some silky touches on the ball.
ANTONI SARCEVICâ¦7.
Came up with the goods in the second half, spraying the ball around well and finishing things off with a delightful skip round the keeper. Deserves credit after a tough run.
DAPO AFOLAYANâ¦7.
Got Bolton back into it before half time and never stopped chipping away at Matthews and Lavelle, whose only course to stop him â" like most defenders â" was to kick him up in the air.
EOIN DOYLEâ¦6.
One of those thankless nights for Doyle, who touched the ball just 10 times all night and only twice in the penalty box. Despite those stark stats, he never gave Charltonâs defenders a momentâs peace.
Subs: Gordon 7, 62 (for John), Johnston 78 (for Baptiste), Delfouneso 85 (for Doyle) Not used: Gilks, Sheehan, Brockbank, Thomason.
Charlton (4-2-3-1): MacGillivray; Matthews, Lavelle, Famewo, Purrington; Blackett-Taylor, Watson, Clare; Leko, Davison, Lee.
Subs: Washington 67 (for Leko), Gilbey 78 (for Clare), Stockley 86 (for Watson) Not used: Henderson, Gunter, Pearce, Arter.
Referee: Lee Swabey â" 6/10. Rather Jekyll and Hyde stuff, with a picky first-half performance followed by a willingness to keep free kicks to a minimum in the rain-sodden second half. I think I preferred the latter.
Attendance: 12,707 (888)
