Worlds deepest swimming pool hides secret eerie sunken city with abandoned cars
A deep dive into the worldâs deepest swimming pool reveals a sunken 'city' beneath the surface, featuring abandoned cars, an apartment and even an underwater exercise bike.
The pool documented is called Deep Dive Dubai, which, with a depth of 60.02m, holds the Guinness World Record for the worldâs deepest swimming pool for diving.
TikTok user and freediver @abdulla_alsenaani gave his followers a sneak peek inside the pool last week, with a series of videos that begin with a scene beside what appears to be an ordinary indoor pool, with a tiled floor and a ladder leading into the water.
But when the camera is dipped under the surface, the video reveals an incredibly deep pool beneath, a multilayered mock 'city' with stairs, an âapartmentâ and old abandoned cars sitting on two levels.

Others feature windows into rooms from the building the pool sits within.
Later videos shared by the popular travel TikToker show him swimming down into a cavernous hole down the middle of the pool, by pulling himself down a rope.
He goes on to reveal the finer details of the pool, with one clip showing him using a spin bike underwater.

The next scene shows him floating above a âbathroomâ within an underwater âapartmentâ.
Deep Dive Dubai, which holds 14 million litres of water, opened in June this year.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records website, the pool features sound and mood lighting systems, as well as a filtration system that employs NASA-developed technology and UV radiation.

Water is filtered and circulated every six hours using a siliceous volcanic rock to help the complex maintain fresh water.
Freediving and scuba diving experiences are on offer at the complex, while the exterior of the building is designed to resemble an enormous oyster, to highlight the United Arab Emirates pearl diving heritage.
While the cavernous pool is undoubtedly impressive, many online have commented on the eerie vibes it gives off.

"That's not a pool, that's a nuclear reactor," commented one TikToker.
"So scary, I don't even want to finish the video," wrote another.
One TikTok user went as far as to compare it to theâ upside downâ from Netflix 's Stranger Things : "I would never," they added.
